“Keep Christmas With You (All Through the Year)” is associated with Sesame Street and was written by David Axlerod and Sam Pottle. The song was performed by the Sesame Street cast and became part of the program’s Christmas music. Rather than treating Christmas as something that disappears when December ends, the song uses the holiday as an idea that can continue through everyday life. YouTube

The song encourages listeners to carry the positive qualities associated with Christmas beyond the holiday itself. Kindness, friendship, generosity and caring for others are presented as values that do not need to disappear once Christmas Day is over. This gives the song a message that is especially suitable for Sesame Street, where lessons about cooperation and compassion are central.

Its connection to Christmas comes from the familiar traditions and emotions surrounding the holiday, but its central idea goes further. Christmas becomes a reminder of how people can treat one another throughout the entire year. Performed by the Sesame Street cast, the song has a warm and accessible quality that makes its message easy for children and families to understand.
