Step Into Christmas
Welcome to my Christmas song
I’d like to thank you for the year
So I’m sending you this Christmas card
To say it’s nice to have you here
I’d like to sing about all the things
Your eyes and mind can see
So hop aboard the turntable
Oh step into Christmas with me
Step into Christmas
Let’s join together
We can watch the snow fall forever and ever
Eat, drink and be merry
Come along with me
Step into Christmas
The admission’s free
Take care in all you do next year
And keep smiling through the days
If we can help to entertain you
Oh we will find the ways
So merry Christmas one and all
There’s no place I’d rather be
Than asking you if you’d oblige
Stepping into Christmas with me
Step into Christmas
Let’s join together
We can watch the snow fall forever and ever
Eat, drink and be merry
Come along with me
Step into Christmas
The admission’s free
Welcome to my Christmas song

About the carol Step Into Christmas
“Step Into Christmas” is a Christmas song written and recorded by English musician Elton John. It was released in 1973 as a standalone holiday single and was produced by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The song was created during a period when Elton John was becoming one of the biggest names in popular music, and it combined his energetic piano-driven style with the festive sounds of Christmas music.
The song invites listeners to join in the celebration of Christmas through music, dancing and togetherness. Unlike traditional carols that focus on religious themes or family traditions, “Step Into Christmas” captures the excitement of holiday parties and the joyful atmosphere surrounding the season. Its upbeat rhythm, cheerful lyrics and lively arrangement create a feeling of celebration and movement.
Over time, the song has become one of Elton John’s most recognizable seasonal recordings. Its connection to Christmas comes from its direct invitation to enjoy the holiday spirit and share happiness with others. The combination of rock music and festive elements helped create a modern Christmas song that continues to appear on holiday playlists and radio stations around the world.
